Custom fields are reset to blank when updating profile

Hi,

I am trying to make custom fields work. Did anybody had a similar issue, that a custom field values get reset after the user profile is updated? Is that a bug?

I am using a custom field to store Mailerlite ID, so I can sync member data with the data in Mailerlite database.

The custom data keeps disappearing after member updates their profile through the default pop-up:
