I’m about to launch a beta version of a product and wanted to offer free membership to the early members during the beta stage.
Later on, once we’re out of beta I’d like to start charging them.
I’m looking for an alternative to offering a free trial due to the issues mentioned in this thread: Free trials - customer experience
1 - Is it possible to update the membership price after it’s been published and with members associated to it?
2- Is it possible to move members across memberships? I.e.: From a free to a paid membership.
3- In case I’d need to go with the free trial option, will I be able to update the trial period after the membership has been published?
- Afraid not. Stripe doesn’t allow it.
- Not yet, but this is really high on our roadmap. Can’t make any promises but the goal is to get this out in the next few weeks.
- Not possible to update the trial period. Another Stripe limitation.
Hope this helps! Keep an eye out for the feature announcement. We’re going to get back into the habit of sending those.
I’m not 100% sure, but I think you can update the trial even after publishing the membership.
Thanks @belltyler @DuncanHamra!
I’ll give it a try and report back.
Hey @gusvd, any luck with updating the free trial period after publishing the membership? Will be publishing my paid membership soon and want to know if I’ll be able to change the 90-day free trial period once published…
Did you have your answer? I’m looking for the same thing right now. Thanks a lot!
Hi Sebastien, unfortunately both the free trial period and the price appear to be unchangeable once a membership is published.
Ok, thanks for the quick response.
Its weird, if my client want to change the price I will have to add other memberships.
Have a great day!
